The movie 'Zombie Daughter' (directed by Pil Gam-seong) has surpassed 5 million viewers for the first time this year. According to the Integrated Ticketing System, 'Zombie Daughter' attracted 272,233 viewers over the weekend (from the 22nd to the 24th). The cumulative audience count is 5,006,258.
It broke the 5 million viewer mark just 26 days after its release, making it the first film to do so among domestic releases this year. This achievement comes about 11 months after the release of 'Veteran 2' (directed by Ryu Seung-wan), which premiered in September of last year.
'Zombie Daughter' reached 5 million viewers faster than 'Smuggling' (36 days). It maintained the number one spot at the box office for the longest duration this year (23 days), surpassing the big-budget film 'F1: The Movie' (directed by Joseph Kosinski).
