Father, enraged by son’s bullying, breaks into school and assaults student
An incident occurred where a father, furious over his child’s school bullying issue, entered the school to physically assault the offending student. It is reported that a teacher who was trying to mediate the situation was also injured during the incident.
On the 25th, the Masan Central Police of Changwon, Gyeongnam Province, announced that they are investigating a 37-year-old man, referred to as Mr. A, on charges of child abuse and other offenses without arrest.
Mr. A is accused of illegally entering the gymnasium of a middle school in the Changwon area at around 9:35 AM on the 24th and assaulting a first-year student, referred to as Mr. B.

On the day of the incident, Mr. A first searched the classroom, but when he found no one, he moved to the gymnasium to carry out the assault. One physical education teacher who attempted to intervene was injured in the eye area and was diagnosed with a three-week recovery period.
During the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly stated that he committed the assault because "his classmate, Mr. B, was bullying his son." It has been reported that Mr. B had bullied Mr. A’s son approximately three times this year.
The Gyeongnam Provincial Office of Education has provided the victimized teacher with information on how to file a complaint with the Teacher’s Rights Protection Committee, while Mr. B was guided on how to report child abuse. Additionally, psychological counseling will be offered to the students who witnessed the incident in the gymnasium. The police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the event.
