Ahn Jung-geun, a Strong Defense Statement Compared to Yoon's Imprisonment Life
Attorney Shin Pyung, known as a mentor to former President Yoon Seok-yeol, strongly criticized the government by comparing Yoon's imprisonment life to that of Ahn Jung-geun.
On the 19th, attorney Shin posted on his social media, stating, "Former President Yoon is receiving much worse treatment than Ahn Jung-geun, who was labeled a terrorist by militaristic Japan, despite being a former president directly elected by the people. Both individuals share the commonality of being political prisoners."

"Ahn's Cell Was Clean… Former President Yoon Is in a Cell Without Windows"
Attorney Shin continued his comparison after visiting the Ahn Jung-geun heritage site in Lushun, China, on the 14th.
He stated, "After Ahn assassinated Ito Hirobumi in Harbin in 1909, he was arrested and executed by hanging in Lushun prison in March 1910." He explained, "Room No. 22, where Ahn was detained, was about six pyeong in size and had a bed, desk, chair, and large window." He continued, "Overall, it was a clean facility, whereas former President Yoon is now confined in a narrow cell of about two pyeong without any windows."
He pointed out, "Former President Yoon has no desk and is using a cardboard box as a support to place his tray while squatting to eat," adding, "There is a significant gap compared to Ahn's imprisonment."
"Worse Than 'Militaristic' Japan"… Claim of Political Revenge

Attorney Shin criticized, "Ahn was considered a terrorist by the Japanese government at the time, while former President Yoon is a leader elected by the people. However, the attitude towards political prisoners by the current Lee Jae-myung government is far more brutal than that of militaristic Japan."
He claimed, "This is the sordid political revenge of the Lee Jae-myung government," expressing suspicion that the powerful figures in the regime have stated, "We will physically remove former President Yoon," and questioning whether they intend to achieve that goal in the detention center.
Public opinions regarding this matter are divided. Those who agree with attorney Shin's statement responded with, "It's true."
In contrast, critics responded with, "Does it make sense to compare a righteous person who aimed a gun at an invader with a criminal who aimed a gun at the people?" "Ahn's act was one of 'righteousness,' while Yoon Seok-yeol's was one of 'violence,'" and "There is a significant difference between a person who took up arms to empower the people and a person who took up arms to seize power from the people."
