Yoon Seok-yeol returns home at dawn after investigation… Park Chan-dae “The special prosecution should consider requesting an arrest warrant for Yoon”

Former President Yoon Suk-yeol's refusal to face the special investigation team regarding insurrection provokes Park Chan-dae to urge consideration of an arrest warrant.

Park Chan-dae, a former floor leader and a preliminary candidate for the Democratic Party chair, called for a strong response to former President Yoon Suk-yeol's refusal to meet with the special prosecutor team.

On the 28th, Park posted on his Facebook, stating, "Yoon Suk-yeol's refusal to cooperate requires a firm response."

Park strongly criticized Yoon, saying, "It seems Yoon is determined to torment the citizens until the end. His behavior on the first day of the summons investigation for the insurrection leader Yoon Suk-yeol is truly typical of a legal trickster." He reiterated his condemnation by adding, "It seems Yoon is determined to torment the citizens until the end. His behavior on the first day of the summons investigation for the insurrection leader Yoon Suk-yeol is truly typical of a legal trickster."

He further pointed out, "Does he still think he is the president? He exhibited petty behavior by requesting preferential treatment for entrance and tardiness even before the investigation." Additionally, he noted that during the investigation process, Yoon also refused to respond by spewing nonsensical arguments.

Park emphasized to the special investigation team, "This special investigation has been established with great difficulty. The insurrection special investigation should focus on the charges of the insurrection leader rather than the title of former president. It has already been confirmed that he is uncooperative with the investigation, and as concerns over evidence destruction have increased, it is necessary to consider requesting an arrest warrant if needed." He reiterated, "This special investigation has been established with great difficulty. The insurrection special investigation should focus on the charges of the insurrection leader rather than the title of former president. It has already been confirmed that he is uncooperative with the investigation, and as concerns over evidence destruction have increased, it is necessary to consider requesting an arrest warrant if needed."

He stressed, "All citizens are equal under the law."

Moreover, he acknowledged, "I understand that this is to investigate even one more insurrection leader, but one may question whether accommodating all the demands of the suspect is legitimate and fair." He urged, "Please take firm action and conduct a serious investigation so that the observing citizens do not feel worried."

Meanwhile, according to the insurrection special investigation team (special prosecutor Cho Eun-seok), former President Yoon refused to continue with the investigation after requesting a change of investigators following one hour of face-to-face questioning from Park Chang-hwan, the head of the Serious Crimes Investigation Division of the National Police Agency.

As a result, the face-to-face investigation regarding the "prevention of arrest" was suspended, and the special team resumed the investigation regarding the cabinet meeting process and foreign exchange crimes by deploying prosecutors Kim Jeong-guk and Jo Jae-cheol starting from 4:45 PM.

Former President Yoon, who entered the Seoul High Prosecutor's Office at 9:55 AM, completed the questioning approximately 15 hours later, at 12:59 AM on the 29th.

While tensions between former President Yoon and the insurrection special investigation team escalated, actual questioning of the suspect reportedly lasted only 5 hours and 5 minutes.

The special investigation team has requested former President Yoon to appear for further questioning by 9 AM on the 30th.
