Yoon, if detained, will be sent to Seoul Detention Center… Park Ji-won “There’s no air conditioning, and the fan turns off after a while”

"Summer prison is hell… You have to experience it"

Responses from the ruling party confirming the issuance of an arrest warrant for former President Yoon Suk-yeol have been continuous ahead of his pre-arrest questioning.

On the 8th, Democratic Party lawmaker Park Ji-won appeared on the YouTube broadcast "Mae-bul Show" and expressed confidence that "Tonight will be the last night that former President Yoon sleeps in an air-conditioned room."

Park stated, "I lived in the Seoul Detention Center for three years. Do you know how hot it can get? It's extremely hot, and there's a small fan on the ceiling that turns off after a certain time."

He added, "It’s so hot you can't sleep, so you end up pouring water from the toilet that’s next to you all day and night, but the guards will tell you to be quiet. Summer is truly hell. Please turn the air conditioning up twice tonight."

The temperature in Seoul reaches 37 degrees… Different from the first arrest

The special prosecutor's team investigating the insurrection case filed an arrest warrant application for former President Yoon on the 6th on charges of obstructing special public duties and falsifying official documents.

The Seoul Central District Court will conduct the hearing for the arrest warrant at 2:15 PM on the 9th, presided over by Judge Nam Se-jin, and the decision on whether to issue the warrant is expected to be made around dawn on the 10th.

If the arrest warrant is issued, former President Yoon will be detained at the Seoul Detention Center in Uiwang, Gyeonggi Province. However, there is no air conditioning in the detention rooms at the Seoul Detention Center. Unlike his first arrest, which occurred in winter, this time he will have to endure confinement in the scorching heat of 37 degrees.

100% certainty of arrest… Let go and repent

Former President Lee Myung-bak was hospitalized during his imprisonment at the Seoul Eastern Detention Center due to heat-related issues like sleep apnea and worsening diabetes. Former President Park Geun-hye also endured the heat at the Seoul Detention Center by relying on frozen water bottles and the breeze from a fan.

Democratic Party lawmaker Jeong Cheong-rae also stated on his Facebook on the 7th, "Former President Yoon will be 100% arrested. If you let go of everything and clear your mind, it’s still bearable. Think of it as 'your home' and live in repentance while staying healthy."
