Entertainer Yoo Young-jae (60) has been brought to trial on charges of forcibly molesting the older sister of his ex-wife, actress Sunwoo Eun-sook (64).
Lawyer No Jong-un from the law firm Jonghoe, representing Sunwoo Eun-sook, announced on the 21st that the Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office in Seongnam indicted Yoo Young-jae without detention on the 18th.
The prosecution acknowledged Yoo Young-jae’s charges.
He faces charges of violating the Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, specifically forcible molestation by a familial relationship, against Sunwoo Eun-sook’s sister.
The lawyer warned, “We earnestly urge restraint from malicious comments about the victim and her family. We plan to take strict legal action against defamation posts.”
Sunwoo Eun-sook and Yoo Young-jae legally became a couple in October 2022, marrying at lightning speed after only eight months of dating.
However, last April, they abruptly announced their divorce.
The reason for the divorce became a hot topic: Yoo Young-jae had been in a de facto marriage relationship until before the wedding, and it was revealed that his marriage to Sunwoo Eun-sook was not his second but his third.
In particular, suspicions were raised that Yoo Young-jae forcibly molested Sunwoo Eun-sook’s sister.
As a result, Sunwoo Eun-sook filed a complaint against Yoo Young-jae with the Bundang Police Station and even filed for annulment of their marriage.
It is reported that Yoo Young-jae denied all charges during the police investigation and the prosecution stages.
Previously, he also refuted the molestation allegations on his YouTube channel.
