A composer, Yoo Jae-hwan, has been sent to the prosecution on charges of fraud without detention.

On the 8th, the Seoul Seodaemun Police Station reported, "In March, Yoo Jae-hwan was sent to the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office without detention." Yoo Jae-hwan is accused of defrauding 1.3 million won under the pretext of providing free composition services.

In March 2022, Yoo announced a composition project through social media, claiming he would compose for free excluding labor costs, while demanding 1.3 million won as a fee in the name of labor costs.

The victim, A, deposited the money. However, Yoo began recruiting for a second project without completing the first one. He collected advance payments from applicants and executed a series of "recycling composition fees."

A filed a fraud complaint against Yoo at the end of May last year. The victim solidarity group also filed a fraud complaint on August 12 of last year. Yoo gathered approximately 55 million won in total under the guise of production costs.

However, the Seoul Gangseo Police Station decided not to forward the case to the prosecution in January, stating that the facts of the accusation were not established. The victim solidarity group has since gathered more victims and is disputing the police's decision not to proceed with the case.
