Yeonjun, ‘GUM’ Tops Korean and Japanese Charts… First Mixtape, Music Power

Yeonjun of ‘TOMORROW X TOGETHER’ (TXT) topped the album chart with his first solo activity. According to the album sales tracking site ‘Hanteo Chart,’ Yeonjun’s first mixtape ‘GGUM’ reached number one on the daily album chart as of January 29.

He performed well on the Japan and Korea charts as well, hitting the top spot on the Oricon Daily Single Ranking (October 28) and the Circle Chart Daily Retail Album Chart (October 29). ‘GGUM’ is a hip-hop track expressing confidence and ambition on stage metaphorically as gum.

Its concise and unique chorus lyrics, “chewing gum,” make a strong impression. The performance is also captivating, featuring choreography that utilizes his long limbs. An insider noted, “The stage presence and dance lines stand out, befitting a leading dancer in K-pop.”

‘GGUM’ also showcased its digital power, first achieving number one on the ‘World Wide iTunes Song’ chart. It topped the iTunes ‘Top Song’ chart in 33 countries/regions in total.

On the U.S. Billboard chart, it secured the 4th position on the ‘World Digital Song Sales’ chart for two consecutive weeks and received love, winning the Mnet ‘M Countdown’ trophy, among other accolades.

TXT will make a comeback with their 7th mini-album ‘The Name Chapter: Sanctuary’ on the 4th of next month. They will also hold an encore concert for their world tour at the Seoul KSPO Dome from November 1 to 3.
