
The film "Face" (directed by Yeon Sang-ho) is set to be released simultaneously in South Korea and the United States.
On the 7th, U.S. 'Variety' reported that "Face" has recently secured North American distribution rights after signing an agreement with the U.S. distributor 'Well Go USA.' The film is scheduled to have its world premiere at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) next month, where it has been invited to the Special Presentations section. It will be released in North America on the 26th of next month.
"Face" is the latest work by director Yeon Sang-ho and is a mystery genre film. It tells the story of a blind master in the field of engraving, Lim Young-kyu, and his son, Lim Dong-hwan, as they uncover the death of Lim's mother, which has been buried for 40 years.
Actor Park Jung-min takes on a dual role, portraying both the father Lim Young-kyu and the son Lim Dong-hwan. The cast also includes Kwon Hae-hyo and Shin Hyun-bin.
Doris Padrecio of Well Go USA described the film as "an intriguing mystery thriller that delves into family secrets," highlighting that "the layered script and the captivating performances of the actors are the key points."
Meanwhile, "Face" is planning to be released domestically next month.
