Actress Yum Hye-ran will appear in director Chung Ji-young's new film.
On the 25th, the production company announced, "Director Chung Ji-young is presenting the film 'My Name Is,' inspired by the Jeju 4·3 Incident. Yum Hye-ran will play the lead role."
'My Name Is' is a human drama genre. It's a story about a mother searching for her lost name and memories due to the Jeju 4·3 Incident.
Yum Hye-ran will play the role of the mother, Jung-soon. Jung-soon is a character who cannot remember anything before the age of eight and occasionally experiences dissociative symptoms causing seizures.
Her unique, deep acting is highly anticipated. Yum Hye-ran has expanded the range of female characters through films like 'Citizen Deok-hee' and dramas 'The Glory' and 'Mask Girl.'
Director Chung Ji-young is in charge of directing. He has engaged audiences by exposing the absurdities of social privileges through films like 'Unbowed,' 'Black Money,' and 'Boys.'
Expressing satisfaction with Yum Hye-ran's casting as the lead, he praised her, saying, "No matter what role she is given, she is an excellent actress."
Meanwhile, 'My Name Is' is slated to crank in next year.
