Singer and actor Yang Dong-geun has drawn a line regarding the controversy surrounding his political stance. On the 2nd, he posted on Instagram, "Believing in you was my mistake," adding, "Feel free to be disappointed and curse. You have the right to do so. Isn't it a bit much for me to commit suicide?" along with a photo.
In the photo, Yang Dong-geun was seen smiling with the words 'mistake' drawn on his face and making an insulting gesture. This appears to express his displeasure over the political controversy that erupted the previous day.
He had performed on stage at the summer camp for youth organized by the Busan World Church on the 30th of last month, alongside his CCM performance group 'K-Spirit.' He referred to it as a "graceful time" and shared a video from the event.
Following this, he became embroiled in political controversy since the pastor who organized the camp, Son Hyun-bo, was known for defending former President Yoon's emergency martial law declaration on December 3 and leading protests against impeachment.
Yang Dong-geun's agency clarified on the 1st, stating, "It was simply a matter of faith. There was no political intent whatsoever," and added, "There is no personal relationship with the church or the pastor."
