Singer Woozi (Cho Seung-yeon) has achieved a resurgence in popularity while serving in the military. His song "Drowning," released in April 2023, is sweeping through domestic charts.

On the 8th, Woozi’s "Drowning" ranked 4th on the Melon Daily Chart. After breaking its own record by reaching 3rd place on the 6th, it has maintained a position in the top ranks.

The song is also performing well on YouTube Music, where "Drowning" secured 3rd place on the Weekly Popular Songs chart (from the end of last month to the 3rd). The 1st place was taken by Jo Jae-z’s "Do You Not Know?" and the 2nd place by Jennie's "Like Jennie."

"Drowning" is a track from Woozi's 5th mini-album "Our" (OO-LI), for which he wrote and composed. The song honestly expresses the sorrow of losing a loved one.

The response to "Drowning" erupted during a special performance for Armed Forces Day on the show "Immortal Songs," which aired last October. Woozi captivated listeners with his powerful performance in military uniform, earning praise as a hidden gem.

At that time, "Drowning" had already been out of the charts. However, it began to resurge as word of mouth spread among listeners. Since then, it has shown steady upward momentum, climbing into the top 5.

Meanwhile, Woozi is fulfilling his duty in the Army as an active soldier. He is currently serving in the Army band and is set to be discharged on July 21.
