Busan High School Students Assault Case, Police Investigation Commences
A group of high school students in Busan has been investigated by the police for assaulting a fellow student.
On the 23rd, the Dongnae Police Station in Busan announced that an incident occurred earlier this month in the parking lot of a villa in Dongnae District, where 2-3 high school students assaulted their classmate, Mr. A (19), in a group.
According to a video released by Busan MBC, multiple students surrounded Mr. A and carried out indiscriminate attacks with punches and kicks. Notably, one student can be seen instructing others to "record the video" of the assault.

As a result of the assault, Mr. A suffered injuries, including a broken nasal bone, and received a medical diagnosis of three weeks of severe injury.
The investigation revealed that Mr. A was not previously acquainted with the assailants. According to claims from Mr. A’s side, the motive for the attack stemmed from a simple 'social media blocking' issue.
It is reported that one of the assailants' girlfriends demanded Mr. A to block him on social media because she was close to him; the collective assault took place after Mr. A refused the demand.

After the incident, Mr. A immediately reported the assault to his school, and this was forwarded to the School Violence Countermeasures Committee (SVC).
A specialized investigator for school violence was assigned to conduct an investigation of the related students, but the situation remains unresolved as the assailants argue that it was a case of 'mutual assault'.
A police official stated, “We plan to thoroughly investigate the details of the assault and whether the recorded video has been distributed externally before forwarding the case to the prosecution."
