President Lee Jae-myung has prepared a special movie screening event with the public to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Liberation.

The President officially announced on his Facebook on the 16th that he plans to watch the movie "Independence Army: The Unfinished War" on the 17th.

In the Facebook post, President Lee stated, "On Sunday morning, I will watch the movie 'Independence Army: The Unfinished War' recommended by actor Jo Jin-woong," and he informed that applications from citizens who wish to watch the movie together would be accepted until 11 AM on the 16th.

This screening event will take place at a location in Seoul; however, due to security reasons, the specific movie theater location and screening time have not been disclosed.

A Meaningful Occasion to Reflect on the Essence of Liberation

Regarding the significance of this movie screening, President Lee emphasized, "The foundation of the prosperity and freedom we enjoy today rests on the unyielding will for liberation and the intense hope for recovering sovereignty, embodied by countless unnamed heroes who sacrificed themselves." He stated that this occasion will be a time to remember the sacrifices and dedication of ancestors on the 80th anniversary of Liberation.

He continued, "With the hope that more people will honor and remember the proud history of the Liberation Army, I am inviting those who would like to watch together," encouraging the participation of citizens.

However, due to limited seating, attendees will be selected through a lottery, and the President asked for understanding regarding the inability to accommodate all applicants.
