Actress Jeon Ji-hyun and Kang Dong-won are set to deliver unparalleled acting synergy. The Disney+ series "Polaris" (written by Jeong Seo-kyung and directed by Kim Hee-won and Hur Myung-hyang) revealed its main poster on the 19th, further heightening anticipation ahead of its release.
The urban area has transformed into a sea of flames due to a massive explosion, resulting in significant damage. The characters’ conflicting gazes capture the rising tension.
The tagline is also thought-provoking, stating: "Who can you trust?" and "What will you protect?" This hints at the genre's thrilling spy romance elements.
The main trailer has also been released. Moon-joo (played by Jeon Ji-hyun) resolves to run for president to uncover the truth behind an assassination attempt on a presidential candidate, putting her in great danger.
San-ho (played by Kang Dong-won) decides he must protect her and offers, "Hire me." As Moon-joo remains wary, she receives a warning: "Be careful of men."
A key point of interest is the evolving relationship between Moon-joo and San-ho. It raises curiosity about what choices Moon-joo will make amid the boundary of trust and suspicion, as well as the direction of the spy romance.
The looming immense danger approaching the Korean Peninsula also captures attention, as the situation could lead to a third world war. Characters driven by contrasting desires engage in extreme conflict.
"Polaris" is a spy romance, telling the story of a former diplomat and a special agent with a mysterious past pursuing the hidden truths behind a monumental event together.
This work is one of the most anticipated releases. The casting of Jeon Ji-hyun and Kang Dong-won has already garnered attention, and the combination of writer Jeong Seo-kyung and director Kim Hee-won excites viewers.
Meanwhile, "Polaris" will premiere on the 10th of next month, with the first three episodes available to watch out of a total of nine.
