Seoul Middle School Students Arrested for Disorderly Conduct After Using Marijuana Near Apartment Complex

Two middle school students were arrested by the police after using marijuana and causing a disturbance near an apartment complex in Seoul.

According to a report by MBN on the 12th, the Nowon Police Station in Seoul announced that it is investigating the two middle school students on charges of violating the Act on the Control of Narcotics (Marijuana).

They are suspected of inhaling marijuana around 9:10 PM on the 25th of last month near the apartment complex. At the time, they were reportedly running around the area shouting, "Someone is chasing us, my friend used drugs."

The mobile patrol officers from the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, who were patrolling near the apartment complex, apprehended them at the scene and took them into custody, before handing the case over to the Nowon Police Station. The police also secured liquid marijuana that the students had discarded at the scene.

Police Investigation Status on Youth Marijuana Use and Methods

A representative from the Nowon Police Station stated, "It is presumed that they inhaled the liquid marijuana using an electronic cigarette device, and we are currently verifying the drug acquisition routes through the investigation."

There are growing social concerns as the use of liquid marijuana in electronic cigarette form has been increasing among teenagers.
