Seoul Subway Line 9 Train Floor Covered in Feces

During the morning rush hour, feces were discovered on the floor of a train on Seoul's Subway Line 9.

According to the Seoul Metro Line 9, at around 8:20 AM on the 15th, there were 12 reports received, stating "there's a strange smell in the train" and "there's waste on the train floor."

Staff who arrived on the scene confirmed human feces on the floor of the second car and completed the cleanup in about 20 minutes.

At that time, the waste was reported to be only on the floor, with no contamination observed on other facilities within the train.

A representative from Metro Line 9 stated, "There were reports suggesting it was some other type of waste, but the smell was definitely feces. It is presumed that it flowed down from the legs of a standing passenger based on its shape."

They further noted, "Given that there was no contamination on the seats, it does not seem to have been intentional, and the identity of the passenger has not yet been determined."

Metro Line 9: "The trajectory of the passenger has not been confirmed."

On that day, various online communities were flooded with posts mentioning the incident, saying things like "I accidentally stepped on feces," and "a passenger defecated while standing, causing others to evacuate."

There was also a post stating, "Someone defecated on Line 9 and got off at Noryangjin Station," but Metro Line 9 confirmed that the trajectory of the passenger has not been established.

Netizens reacted with comments such as, "It seems like an accident; it's better not to reveal their identity," "I wonder how much they must have sweated while holding it in," and "We should understand this kind of situation."
