Nationwide Civil Defense Drill to be Conducted for 20 Minutes Starting at 2 PM on the 20th
According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, a nationwide civil defense drill simulating an air raid will take place on the 20th, starting at 2 PM for a duration of 20 minutes. The drill will be conducted systematically in the order of air raid warning, alert warning, and warning cancellation.
At exactly 2 PM, when the air raid warning is issued, air raid sirens will sound across the country, and safety guidance text messages will be sent to the public along with an announcement.

During the drill, at 2:15 PM, the alert warning will be issued. At this time, individuals can leave the shelters while maintaining a state of readiness and can move about. The civil defense drill will conclude with the cancellation of warnings at 2:20 PM.
Focus on Emergency Vehicle Passage Training
This civil defense drill will place emphasis on emergency vehicle passage training. Citizens driving vehicles should recognize the approach of emergency vehicles such as fire trucks or ambulances during the drill, by turning on their hazard lights, and then proceed to slow down.
The emergency vehicle passage training will take place on one designated road segment per fire station, and information regarding these segments can be found on the websites of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and local governments.

On the day prior to the drill, the 19th, and on the day itself, the 20th, safety guidance text messages will be sent to inform the public about the drill, and live broadcasts on KBS Radio 1 will provide guidance on necessary actions for the citizens during the drill.
Information Provision for Multicultural Families and Foreigners
To assist multicultural families and foreign visitors, training schedules and shelter location information will be provided in five languages through the 'Emergency Ready App' for foreign residents. This aims to ensure that all residents can participate in the drill without language barriers.
Measures have also been put in place to minimize public inconvenience. Major facilities such as hospitals, subways, railways, aircraft, and ships will operate normally regardless of the drill. Additionally, regions that suffered damage from wildfires in March and heavy rainfall in July will be excluded from this drill to focus on recovery and remediation efforts.
