Former Mayor Hong Jun-pyo Criticizes the Situation of First Lady Kim Gun-hee’s Warrant Examination
Former Daegu Mayor Hong Jun-pyo has expressed strong criticism regarding the situation of First Lady Kim Gun-hee during her pre-arrest interrogation. He pointed out that the reason for her being in such a dire situation is because she "looked down on the public."
"Because she looked down on the public"
On the 12th, former Mayor Hong mentioned Kim's situation, where she appeared at the Seoul Central District Court at 10:10 AM to stand before Chief Prosecutor Jeong Jae-wook. He emphasized that this situation was the result of a "shallow political consciousness that treats politics and the public lightly."

Notably, former Mayor Hong recalled the phone conversation that was revealed during the primary election of presidential candidates in October 2021 between Kim and a reporter from Seoul's Voice.
He said, "Seeing the rampant shamanism at the time with figures like Cheonggong, Geonjinbeopsa, and the palm reading king made it clear what kind of country would emerge once the Yoon Seok-yeol administration took over."
Expression of Regret Over Past Shamanism Controversy and Election Process
Former Mayor Hong expressed disappointment that all these controversies were ignored while the 20th presidential primary and the main election proceeded, stating, "Looking back now, it is truly regrettable."
He also criticized the process of the 21st presidential election, stating, "The fraudulent primary led by Han Duck-soo, the unexpected candidacy of Kim Moon-soo without any preparation, and the election of individuals indicted for various incidents were all abnormal."

Finally, former Mayor Hong indirectly expressed his anger and frustration at the current situation by using the phrase "It is a hot and sweltering summer day." This can be seen as an example showing that there are various perspectives within the political arena regarding Kim Gun-hee’s warrant examination situation.
