'Crayon Shin-chan' Mom's Voice Actor Hong Mi-sun Missing from 'Crayon Shin-chan 25'… Listening to the New Voice Actor
There is news that the voice actor for Hong Mi-sun, who seems ready to run to Shin-chan and give him a slap at any moment, has been replaced.
The cast list for 'Crayon Shin-chan 25', released on Tving on the 25th, did not include the name of voice actor Kang Hee-sun, who has been voicing Hong Mi-sun since 1999.
The vacancy has been filled by voice actor Ahn So-yeon. Ahn So-yeon, who took over the role of Hong Mi-sun, is a veteran voice actor known for voicing Kagome in 'Inuyasha' and Elsa in 'Frozen'.

Ahn So-yeon's new voice for Hong Mi-sun showed an effort to match the original character as closely as possible.
The unique interjections and laughter of Hong Mi-sun remained intact, and her habit of elongating the ends of her sentences was preserved as well.
However, there were moments of awkwardness due to a slightly lower tone mixed in compared to Kang Hee-sun.
Additionally, the role of the character Mang-goo, which Kang Hee-sun used to voice, was replaced by voice actor Jung Yoo-jung. Mang-goo's distinctive dull and innocent speech was so similar to the original voice that it would be difficult to notice the change without being informed.

Regarding the background of this voice actor change, some netizens have speculated that there may be health issues related to Kang Hee-sun.
In 2023, Kang Hee-sun announced that she had been diagnosed with metastatic colorectal cancer in 2021 and was told she had a two-year prognosis but later received a complete recovery diagnosis. The following year, during an appearance on the tvN variety show 'You Quiz on the Block', Kang Hee-sun mentioned, "I am currently under observation for colorectal cancer," addressing concerns about her health.
However, it is still unclear whether this voice actor change is temporary or if it will continue in the future.
