Vietnam Photo Booth Assault Incident, Perpetrator Korean Woman Dismissed
A case in which a Korean woman assaulted a Vietnamese person in Vietnam has sparked international controversy as it spreads through social media.
In response, the Vietnamese branch of S Company, where the perpetrator was employed, took decisive measures such as dismissing the employee.
The perpetrator is a Korean employee belonging to the headquarters with experience working in the Vietnamese branch, and it has been confirmed that the incident occurred during a business trip to Vietnam from the 9th to the 14th.

On the 17th (local time), S Company's Vietnamese branch issued an official apology stating, "We sincerely apologize to the Vietnamese authorities, the people, the expatriates, and everyone involved regarding the incident that occurred on the evening of the 11th at a photo booth in My Dinh, Hanoi."
They continued, "This incident involved a Korean employee who worked in the Vietnamese branch and is currently working at the headquarters, assaulting two Vietnamese individuals during a business trip." They emphasized that "we absolutely cannot tolerate the employee's unethical behavior and are deeply aware that it contradicts the company management principles of complying with Vietnamese laws, respecting Vietnamese culture, and developing together with Vietnamese employees."
The company stated, "Although the incident occurred on the evening of the 11th, we only became aware of it after it spread widely on social media around noon on the 14th, as it happened after the employee had finished work." They added that they are "in contact with the victims involved, those related to the photo booth where the incident occurred, and the authorities to resolve the issue."

Furthermore, they remarked, "We have dismissed the headquarters employee who was the perpetrator of the assault," and "We will do our utmost to sincerely apologize to the victims of the assault and provide compensation for damages."
The company emphasized that they will establish a code of conduct for employees stationed abroad, including local staff and all employees from headquarters, while also engaging in regular employee training and actively cooperating with Vietnamese authorities to prevent similar incidents from occurring again.

The incident took place on the evening of the 11th at a photo booth in the My Dinh area, which is known as a Korean town in Hanoi.
According to CCTV footage, a woman from S Company, waiting for her turn, initiated the assault by slapping a Vietnamese woman who was taking pictures. The footage also captured her kicking the Vietnamese woman who fell during the scuffle.
This incident has sparked significant outrage among local netizens as the CCTV footage and explanations from the victims spread through social media.
