On the 20th, CJ ENM announced, "The film 'Veteran 2' (directed by Ryoo Seung-wan) is causing a box office sensation in Korea and is also finalizing its release dates abroad."
According to the distributor, 'Veteran 2' has been sold to 163 countries worldwide. It will be screened in theaters across the globe, including Asia, North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Oceania.
Audiences in the Philippines and Indonesia will be the first to watch it, with a release scheduled for the 25th. It will be released in Hong Kong and Thailand on the 26th, and in North America and Vietnam on the 27th.
The film had its initial showcase at international film festivals. It was invited to the 'Midnight Screening' section of the 77th Cannes Film Festival and the 'Special Presentation' at the 49th Toronto International Film Festival.
The film has caught the attention of foreign media. Hong Kong's 'South China Morning Post' praised it as "more intense action and storytelling, akin to a roller-coaster experience."
Meanwhile, 'Veteran 2' is an action crime investigation drama. It tells the story of veteran detective Seo Do-cheol and rookie detective Park Sun-woo (played by Jung Hae-in) chasing a serial killer.
