The movie 'Veteran 2' (directed by Ryoo Seung-wan) has surpassed 5 million viewers.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated computer network for movie tickets, 'Veteran 2' touched 5 million viewers on the morning of the 21st. It took only 9 days since its release.

The speed of this box office trend is unprecedented. It is faster than 'Pawn Sacrifice' (10 days), 'Veteran' (10 days), 'The Outlaws 2' (10 days), and 'Spring in Seoul' (14 days).

The Chuseok holidays greatly contributed to this. Over five days, 3.93 million people watched the movie. Audience had no choice as most theatres were occupied by 'Veteran 2'.

Whether it will reach 10 million viewers remains uncertain. Audience reviews are mixed. Many think it's clichéd. The consensus is that it will be difficult to surpass the previous 'Veteran' (13.41 million viewers).

Yet, it still holds the top spot in real-time reservation rates. It’s overwhelming. There are no competitors. As of 9:11 AM on this day, it recorded 49.5%. The second place is 'Joker: Folie à Deux,' scheduled to be released on October 1.

'Veteran 2' is a sequel to 'Veteran.' It's an action crime investigation drama where veteran detective Seo Do-chul (played by Hwang Jung-min) and rookie detective Park Sun-woo (played by Jung Hae-in) hunt a serial killer.
