‘BTS’ V has added a meaningful record. According to Billboard on the 21st, V’s carol “White Christmas” with Bing Crosby placed at number 65 on the “Holiday Hot 100.” This marks the third time; in 2021 with “Christmas Tree,” and last month with the duet song “Winter Ahead” with Park Hyo-shin were on the same chart. V is the only K-pop artist to have three songs on the “Holiday Hot 100.”
These songs immediately soared to the top of the “Holiday Digital Song Sales” chart upon release. Renowned overseas media also praised the songs. Billboard selected “Winter Ahead” as one of “The 27 Best Winter Songs.”
The media outlet positively reviewed it, saying, “It reminds you of the first day of the cold season” and that “the harmony of the two (V and Park Hyo-shin) feels like fresh snow crystals.” In the case of “Christmas Tree,” it was previously selected as one of “The 25 Best Christmas Songs of the 21st Century.”
There were particularly positive opinions about being captivated by the lyrics, such as “Your light is the only thing that keeps away the cold / The moon of a summer night / The whisper of the stars.” Meanwhile, V is serving in the Special Police Task Force of the Military Police Unit. His discharge date is scheduled for June 10 next year.
