BTS's V has captivated music fans in Japan. He achieved a significant record with his solo album. On the 10th, the Recording Industry Association of Japan unveiled the certified works on its official website. Last month, albums that exceeded a certain threshold in cumulative shipments received certification.
V received a "Platinum" certification for his first solo album "Layover." This achievement comes about a year after the album's release, with over 250,000 copies shipped in Japan alone. The certification system categorizes into Gold (100,000 copies), Platinum (250,000 copies), Double Platinum (500,000 copies), Triple Platinum (750,000 copies), and Million (1,000,000 copies) based on shipment volumes.
This is the first time V has earned a Gold Disc Platinum certification for a solo album. Thanks to the release of the LP, he also topped the Oricon Daily Album Ranking (as of September 30). "Layover" is an album that encapsulates the charm of Kim Taehyung. It reflects on the past journey while taking a moment to rest and reconsider the ultimate destination.
The album went straight to the top of the Oricon Daily Album Ranking. The title track "Slow Dancing" also topped the Daily Digital Single Ranking, dominating two charts. Meanwhile, V enlisted in December last year, with his discharge scheduled for June 10 next year.
