Emergency Relief Supplies and 300 Disaster Shelters Provided

On the 21st, Samsung announced that in addition to the relief fund donation, it is implementing various on-site support measures to alleviate the inconveniences faced by flood victims.

Firstly, in cooperation with the Korean Red Cross, Samsung plans to provide 1,000 emergency relief supply kits containing essential items such as blankets, sportswear, towels, and toiletries to the affected regions.

Additionally, 300 disaster relief shelters, which are temporary living spaces sponsored by Samsung, will be urgently deployed for affected residents. These shelters are movable and easy to set up, expected to provide practical help to residents who have lost their homes in a short period.

Since 2005, Samsung has consistently donated funds to the Korean Red Cross and collaborated in establishing disaster response equipment and emergency relief infrastructure.

Home Appliance Recovery Teams Deployed… Free Inspections and Cleaning Support

Since the 18th, Samsung Electronics Service has dispatched a special home appliance recovery service team to the flood-affected areas, offering free inspections and cleaning services for home appliances and mobile phones.

The service team has set up a mobile service center in the disaster zones to check the condition of flooded products, as well as provide cleaning and basic repair support. Particularly in the areas most affected, service engineers are visiting households directly to facilitate rapid recovery.

This initiative is viewed not merely as a service measure, but as a step to prevent secondary accidents such as electrocution and fire due to the use of damaged appliances.

Financial Support Including Credit Card Payment Extensions and Interest Reductions

Samsung Card is also implementing various financial support measures for customers affected by the heavy rain. Payments for credit card transactions made from July to September of this year can be deferred for up to six months, with plans to support installment payments without interest for that period.

In addition, customers using card loans will receive an interest reduction of up to 30%, and long-term card loans with due dates in September will be eligible for maturity extensions. This financial support aims to reduce the burden on affected customers by simplifying the application process.

A Samsung representative stated, "We aim to contribute even a small amount to help our neighbors who have lost their livelihoods due to this heavy rain return to their daily lives as soon as possible," adding, "We will continue to provide timely support to places in need."

A Company that Acts First During Natural Disasters

Samsung has consistently taken the lead in practicing corporate social responsibility whenever natural disasters occur domestically and internationally. During the fires in Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, and Ulsan in 2025, the company donated 3 billion won and home appliances worth 1 billion won, as well as provided emergency relief kits and free inspections of flooded appliances.

In 2023, whenever major disasters occurred such as heavy rain in the country and wildfires in Chungnam, Gyeongbuk, and Jeonnam, the company donated 3 billion won for each incident.

Samsung's disaster response efforts have also extended overseas. Earlier this year, during the LA wildfires in the United States, the company provided electronic products worth $1 million, and during the Turkey earthquake in 2023, it implemented urgent support totaling $3 million, including donations and relief supplies.
