Lee Jae-myung's Approval Rating Rises to 63.3%

President Lee Jae-myung's approval rating for his governance has shown an upward trend, reaching 63.3%.

According to a public opinion poll conducted by Realmeter at the request of the Energy Economics Newspaper, the positive assessment of President Lee's governance has increased compared to last week.

The survey was conducted from the 28th of last month to the 1st of this month, targeting 2,520 eligible voters aged 18 and older nationwide. The percentage of respondents who rated President Lee's governance as 'good' rose by 1.8 percentage points from last week's 61.5% to 63.3%.

In contrast, the negative assessment of 'not good' fell by 1.6 percentage points to 31.4%.

Ruling Party’s Approval Rating also Rises, Expanding Gap with Opposition Party

The results of the party support survey also highlighted a notable increase in the ruling party, the Democratic Party of Korea.

In a survey conducted from the 31st of last month to the 1st of this month among 1,012 voters, the Democratic Party of Korea recorded a support rate of 54.5%, an increase of 3.7 percentage points from last week. In comparison, the main opposition party, the People Power Party, saw its support rate drop by 1.8 percentage points to 27.2%, further widening the gap in support rates between the ruling and opposition parties.

Other political parties' support rates were recorded as follows: the Reform Party at 2.8%, the Justice Party at 2.6%, and the Progressive Party at 1.4%.

This survey was conducted using an automated wireless telephone survey method, with a sample error of ±2.0 percentage points at a 95% confidence level for the presidential approval rating survey, and ±3.1 percentage points for the party support survey. The response rates were 5.3% and 4.4%, respectively.
