Police Continue Investigation into Mos Tan's Claims of ‘Lee Jae-myung's Youth Detention’
Mos Tan (Korean name: Dan Hyun-myung), a professor at Liberty University in the United States, has returned to the U.S. after completing his visit to South Korea. However, the police plan to continue investigating his unverified claims, including the allegation that President Lee Jae-myung was detained in a juvenile detention center.
Professor Tan has been consistently making baseless claims alongside his assertions regarding "election fraud."

On the 21st, a police official stated at a regular press briefing, "A complaint was filed at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency on the 8th, and the Cyber Investigation Unit of the Seoul Police has been assigned to the case since the 10th, and the investigation is underway." The investigation into the dissemination of false information is now in full swing.
Background of the Complaint and Investigation Progress
During a press conference for an international election monitoring group held in Washington D.C. last month, Tan claimed, "The President was involved in a group sexual assault and murder case during his teenage years and was incarcerated in a juvenile detention center."
In response, a civic group filed a complaint against him for defamation due to the dissemination of false information.
The police explained, "We have secured evidence from YouTube (videos, etc.) regarding the claims that the President was detained in a juvenile facility during his youth," and added, "The investigation must continue to ascertain the facts."
It appears they are in the process of confirming the facts through the collection of digital evidence.

However, concerns have been raised regarding potential difficulties in the investigation due to Tan currently residing in the U.S. The police stated, "We first need to verify the authenticity of the content through the secured footage and prepare the necessary materials," and added, "We will need contact information to request his appearance."
Activities During His Visit to South Korea and Departure
Tan continued to repeat controversial claims regarding "election fraud" and "Lee Jae-myung's detention" even after entering South Korea on the 14th.
During his visit, he attempted to meet with former President Yoon Seok-youl, who is currently incarcerated at the Seoul Detention Center, on the 16th. However, the meeting was canceled due to a visitation ban ordered by special prosecutor Jo Eun-seok.
After completing his schedule in South Korea, he departed for the U.S. through Incheon International Airport on the 19th.
The police investigation will continue even following his departure, and there is growing attention regarding his potential legal responsibility for disseminating false information.
