Tomorrow X Together has proven their popularity in Japan by receiving an award at a local ceremony. The Japan Composer's Association announced the winners of the "66th Japan Record Awards" on the 21st.
The "Japan Record Awards" is the ceremony with the longest tradition and prestige, having been held since its first event in 1959, for over 60 years now.
Tomorrow X Together received a special award at this year's ceremony, which is given to artists and works that have been a topic of conversation throughout the year.
They became the second K-pop boy group in history to receive the special award at the "Japan Record Awards." Previously, BIGBANG won the same trophy in 2016.
This year, they achieved significant milestones in Japan, setting a record for the most overseas artist to rank number one consecutively on the Oricon Weekly Album Chart (11 times).
Their Japanese single "CHIKAI" surpassed 750,000 units in cumulative shipment, earning them a "Triple Platinum" certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
They conducted a 4-dome tour in Japan in the shortest period in K-pop history, touring venues such as Tokyo Dome, Kyocera Dome, Vantelin Dome, and Mizuho PayPay Dome.
Meanwhile, Tomorrow X Together will perform at the "2024 MAMA Awards" held at Osaka’s Kyocera Dome Japan on the 22nd.
