On the 1st, Minister Jeong explained at the National Assembly’s Legislative and Judiciary Committee that during the execution of the arrest warrant for former President Yoon, "(The former President) was normally dressed in short sleeves and pants, but when the Special Investigation Team attempted to execute the arrest warrant, he took off his prison uniform, and after the team left, he immediately put it back on."

Former President Yoon's side has strongly objected, arguing that what was stated is completely false and a misrepresentation of facts.

Counterarguments from former President Yoon's side

Former President Yoon's side explained that the internal ventilation issue in the holding cell made it uncomfortably hot, and that due to the potential damage to his autonomic nervous system caused by diabetes, he occasionally took off the prison uniform even before this incident.

Furthermore, they claimed that the detention center understood the situation.

Moreover, they asserted that "the special investigation team instead attempted to forcibly take action while the detainee was without his prison uniform and even took pictures with a camera."

Additionally, they expressed strong protests, stating that requests for consultations with his attorney were ignored due to the non-acceptance of the appointment letter, calling it a "clear violation of human rights disguised as compliance with legal procedures."

During the actual execution of the arrest warrant, it is reported that the special investigation team led by Min Jung-ki attempted to execute the warrant against former President Yoon, who was incarcerated at the Seoul Detention Center in Gyeonggi Province, but returned unsuccessful after approximately two hours.

The special investigation team stated in a briefing, "The suspect was lying on the floor without wearing a prison uniform and was firmly refusing arrest."

According to media reports, former President Yoon was said to have been lying on the solitary confinement floor wearing only a sleeveless top and underwear (boxers), refusing to comply with the arrest.

Former President Yoon's side has reportedly indicated that Minister Jeong Sung-ho publicly disseminated false information without accurately understanding the facts and is preparing legal measures.

Attention is now on whether former President Yoon's side will take actual legal action and the responses from Minister Jeong Sung-ho and the Ministry of Justice.
