Actor Park Hyung-sik's drastic transformation was successful. He has started a plot to take over a conglomerate, completing an intense chemistry with Heo Jun-ho. SBS-TV's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Treasure Island' premiered on the 21st, garnering a nationwide rating of 6.1% and 6% in the metropolitan area (according to Nielsen Korea).
'Treasure Island' ranked first among mini-series aired at the same time and on Fridays. The viewer ratings peaked at 8.2%, indicating a promising start.
Two new dramas premiered on that day, leading to a ratings battle. MBC-TV's 'Undercover High School' episode one followed with a nationwide rating of 5.6%.
'Treasure Island' impressed with its unfiltered depiction of human desire, intense production, and Heo Jun-ho's impactful presence as a villain.
The standout was Park Hyung-sik, who played the role of 'Seo Dong-joo,' the head of external affairs at Daesan Group. He works diligently for the company but hides his ambitions within.

The first episode of 'Treasure Island' was a whirlwind. The ambitious pursuits of the characters were astonishing, providing intense tension.
A hearing related to the energy business (Daesan Energy) took place. Park Hyung-sik and Heo Jun-ho manipulated the session. It flowed favorably for Daesan, and eventually, it adjourned.
Thanks to Park Hyung-sik's actions, he showcased boldness and intelligence, influencing even members of parliament. He fiercely fought to seize control of 'Daesan.'
Park Hyung-sik exuded mature charm, while Heo Jun-ho, without revealing his true nature, displayed a powerful presence, sending chills through every moment.
Even though Park Hyung-sik isn't a blood relative of the Daesan Group, he encountered limitations. Even if the chairman trusted him, his children ignored and held him in check.
President Lee Hae-young (played by Heo Il-do) was particularly wary of Park Hyung-sik. They engaged in a tense showdown, vying for prominence, creating tension.
Instead of becoming part of the Daesan Group's family, Park Hyung-sik chose his abilities. He opted not to meet the chairman's granddaughter, choosing Hong Hwa-yeon (played by Yeo Eun-nam) instead.

However, Park Hyung-sik's confidence and ambition crumbled in an instant. Despite spending a tender night together, Hong Hwa-yeon disappeared. Her identity was shocking.
The grandson-in-law of the Daesan Group chairman turned out to be Heo Jun-ho's nephew, Kwon Soo-hyun, a prosecutor with a bad history with Park Hyung-sik. Moreover, Kwon Soo-hyun's bride was Hong Hwa-yeon.
Hong Hwa-yeon froze upon seeing Park Hyung-sik's face. He was engulfed in shock, cried out in profound betrayal, and heightened the immersion with his emotional acting.
'Treasure Island' has just begun its journey. The first episode received praise for the perfect alignment of script, direction, and acting. The explosive pairing of Park Hyung-sik and Heo Jun-ho is also delightful.
Meanwhile, the second episode of 'Treasure Island' will air at 9:50 PM tonight.
