Tow truck driver dies after being crushed by broken-down vehicle

A tragic incident occurred on the Jungbu Expressway in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province, where a tow truck driver was crushed by a broken-down vehicle.

According to the Hanam Police Station on the 7th, at around 8:39 PM the previous day, a tow truck driver in his 40s, identified as A, met with the accident while attempting to tow a broken-down Kona vehicle.

At the time, A was alone underneath the Kona connecting wires when a sudden wire failure caused the vehicle to crush him.

As a result of this incident, A was transported to a nearby hospital in a state of traumatic cardiac arrest but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

The police have secured and are analyzing closed-circuit (CC) television footage from the accident scene and the tow truck's black box to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident.
