“Thinking It’s Their Own Bedroom”… Guests Lying on Cafe Sofas with Shoes Off

Guests Lying Down on 'Couch-Type Seats' in Cafes

Images of men and women comfortably lying down on cafe seating as if it were their own home have been captured, sparking criticism from internet users.

On the 5th, a post titled "Is the cafe a living room? Guests lying down with their shoes off" was uploaded to the auto-specialized online community 'Bobaedream'.

The author, Mr. A, shared a photo of two guests lounging on a couch-type seat in the cafe, stating, "Is this acceptable? They’ve even taken off their shoes and are completely lying down, just looking at their phones in their socks."

In the published photo, the problematic guests are seen lying down completely on a long couch seat with their heads positioned the opposite way, as Mr. A described.

He commented, "What on earth are they thinking? Anyone who sees this would mistake it for a living room. It's so embarrassing and unpleasant."

Upon seeing this, internet users pointed out that the actions of the guests in the photo were indeed inappropriate. They reacted with comments such as, "That's why we shouldn't have such comfortable chairs," "People asking why it's a problem are also a problem," "Please say they're not Korean," and "Is it the heat? More and more crazy people are appearing."

'Inconsiderate Guests' Frequently Spotted in Cafes

Meanwhile, last November, a middle-aged woman was photographed with her feet on a cafe table while reading, which also sparked public outrage.

At that time, the woman was nonchalantly 'reading' with her legs up on the table, further inciting anger among onlookers.

While such behavior would be completely acceptable in a private setting, it is often regarded as 'inconsiderate' in places where people share facilities.

Sitting on floor seats with shoes off and posing in a 'half-lotus' position or lying down comfortably as if it were their home are examples of such behavior. Although these actions are technically not 'wrong', they receive criticism for causing discomfort to others.
