Passenger's Shocking Behavior Violates Bus Beverage Policy
An astonishing incident occurred where a passenger attempted to board a city bus with a beverage and, upon being stopped by the bus driver, reacted with rage, shouting obscenities and even defecating inside the bus.
On the 24th, JTBC's 'Incident Report' shared the story of a man in his 50s, referred to as A, who has worked as a city bus driver in Daegu for 30 years.

A recounted, "I've had a few confrontations with drunk passengers, but this is the first time something like this has happened," highlighting the seriousness of the situation.
According to A, on the evening of the 19th around 10 PM, a male passenger, referred to as B, attempted to board the bus with a drink in a disposable cup.
A, adhering to the city bus's beverage policy, restricted B's boarding, but B ignored the directive and sat down without leaving the bus.

Assault on the bus driver and shocking behavior
As the situation escalated, A stopped the bus and called the police, at which point passenger B approached the driver's seat, shouting obscenities and exhibiting increasingly threatening behavior.
A explained, "B came to the driver's seat shouting and poked his fingers at my eyes multiple times, actually injuring me. He also kept thrusting the drink cup he was holding toward me as if to throw it."

Despite such a threatening situation, A had no choice but to respond verbally, saying, "Please stop. You will regret this later." However, the situation continued to deteriorate.
A shared, "B said, 'This won't do,' sat down for a moment, then pulled down his pants and squatted right in front of me to defecate. At that moment, I truly couldn’t say anything."
Even after the police arrived at the scene, B remained uncontrollable. Reports indicated that he even demanded tissues and continued drinking the problematic beverage during the police investigation.
The bus driver's trauma and follow-up actions

After both the police and B exited the bus, A faced the ordeal of not being able to take any passengers aboard and had to drive for about an hour to return to the garage. Furthermore, he had to deal with the feces left behind by B.
After this incident, A continued to drive the bus but explained, "It's hard to make eye contact with passengers, and the visual and olfactory memories from that moment keep surfacing, making it impossible to operate the bus."
Currently, A has requested leave from work and is resting while receiving psychiatric treatment.
A is scheduled to undergo victim investigation on the 24th, and the police are reportedly investigating the incident as an assault on a driver.
