President Yoon Provides 'Special Seats' After Hearing Story of Couple with Only One Winner
On the morning of the 17th, President Yoon Seok-yeol watched the movie 'Independence Army: The Unfinished War' at the CGV in Yongsan, Seoul, alongside First Lady Kim Hye-kyung.
This screening was made more meaningful with the presence of actor Jo Jin-woong, director Moon Seung-wook, comedian Seo Seung-man, Democratic Party member Park Hong-keun, and 119 citizens selected through pre-registration.
An Impromptu 'Separated Family Incident'

There was a small incident in front of the screening room that day. When President Yoon asked a citizen, “What did you come to see?” the man replied, “My wife went in alone.” Although the couple had applied together, only the wife won the lottery and entered the cinema.
Upon hearing this, President Yoon expressed regret, saying, “Suddenly, it seems like we have a separated family,” and immediately called over an aide to check on available seats.
When the aide reported that additional seats could be arranged, the president promptly took action to allow the man to enter with his wife. Applause erupted from the audience, creating a warm atmosphere.

Small Consideration Shines Through 'On-Site Communication'
Before the movie screening, President Yoon and the First Lady greeted citizens with handshakes and photos in a friendly manner. In particular, when they entered the screening room with popcorn and drinks, the audience cheered, and a citizen's shout of, “Please take a look over here,” prompted President Yoon to respond, “Who are you?” resulting in laughter.
The consideration shown on that day has been discussed online, receiving positive reactions as a 'meticulous on-site approach.' The small episode contributed to narrowing the distance between the president and citizens, making for a special day.
