Finally, director Woo Min-ho shared his motivation and intention behind the film, saying, "I thought I might be able to capture even a bit of the spirit or heart of the independence fighters on screen." The vast landscapes also caught the eye, offering a glimpse of the exotic filming locations. In the ending, credits for the actors rising one by one over the frozen Tumen River create an intense atmosphere.

The film 'Harbin' depicts the intense chase and suspicion between those heading to Harbin for a singular purpose in 1909 and those pursuing them. It is based on the true story of Ahn Jung-geun. Directed by Woo Min-ho, known for 'The Man Standing Next' and 'Inside Men,' 'Harbin' was already screened and praised at the 49th Toronto International Film Festival.
