“The Rich Family’s Daughter Kidnapped”… ‘Sister’ Cranked Up, Set to Release in ’25

Actor Cha Joo-young has finished filming her next project. Studio Santa Claus Entertainment announced on the 27th that the film “Sister” (working title), starring Cha Joo-young, Jung Ji-so, and Lee Soo-hyuk, recently wrapped up. “Sister” is a mystery thriller that begins with a man and a woman kidnapping the daughter of a rich family.

The story follows the pursuit of hidden secrets and truths between them. Cha Joo-young plays the role of So-jin, a character who experiences the fear of death after being kidnapped without knowing why. She is expected to show a distinctly different performance from her previous works. Jung Ji-so takes on the role of Hae-ran, one of the kidnappers.

She turns to an irreversible act to pay for her sick brother’s surgery, portraying a multifaceted character. Lee Soo-hyuk has been cast as Tae-soo, a loan shark character who is ruthless in pursuit of his own interests, promising a dramatic transformation in performance. Veteran production staff have united for this film.

The director is Jin Sung-moon, who won the Sunjae Award at the Busan International Film Festival in 2021 for the short film “Well-wishing.” Cinematographer Byeon Bong-sun, known for his work in films like “The Terror Live” and “Hell,” has also joined the team, along with editor Han Mi-yeon from “Mask Girl.”

Meanwhile, “Sister” is currently in post-production, aiming for release next year.
