A driver of a stolen vehicle arrested after visiting a police station to report a lost cell phone
A bizarre incident occurred when a man in his 40s, who had stolen a vehicle from a hotel parking lot and fled, was arrested after he personally visited a police station to report his lost cellphone.

According to Channel A on the 4th, the man in his 40s was caught by the police at around 8:30 PM on the 30th of last month after stealing a vehicle from a hotel parking lot in Gangseo-gu, Seoul.
The man drove the stolen vehicle to Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, but abandoned it in an empty lot with a flat tire.
Remarkably, he took a taxi to the police station near the hotel to report that he had lost his cellphone, where he was arrested by the police.
At the time, the man wore a fluorescent short-sleeve shirt when he visited the police station, and the officers, who had already identified his appearance, exchanged glances while gesturing, confirming, “Is this the person?”
Crucial evidence and charges of driving under the influence and without a license
Upon checking the man's bag, police found the vehicle’s registration documents, which became decisive evidence.

Officer Kim Kwan-sik of the Kkachisan Police Station in Gangseo, Seoul, explained the situation at that time, stating, "The shorts and crossbody bag matched perfectly. I was almost certain it was him."
Even after his arrest, the man strongly denied the charges, saying, "If I had stolen the car, would I be here?" However, investigations revealed he was driving without a license and had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.112%, which is at the level for license suspension.
The police charged him with theft, driving under the influence, and driving without a license.
