Former President Moon Jae-in Plans to File Criminal Complaints Against Investigating Prosecutors… "I Will Correct the Abuse of Prosecutorial Authority This Time"
The representatives of former President Moon Jae-in, who has been indicted by the prosecution on charges of bribery, have announced their intention to file criminal complaints against the investigating prosecutors, citing abuse of prosecutorial authority. This marks the first time since his resignation that he has publicly expressed a willingness to take legal action, indicating that a direct conflict between the former president and the prosecution is intensifying.
On the 25th, Democratic Party lawmaker Yoon Geon-young appeared on MBC Radio's "Kim Jong-bae’s Focus" and stated, "Former President Moon has characterized this matter as a politically motivated indictment in retaliation for the impeachment of former President Yoon Seok-youl," adding, "He has made it clear that he will not allow the abuse of prosecutorial authority to go unaddressed."

Lawmaker Yoon indicated, "Former President Moon said, 'This time, I will go all the way. I will respond decisively,' and is preparing legal measures through criminal complaints against the involved prosecutors."
"They Searched Relatives and High School Alumni… Even Seized an iPad"
Lawmaker Yoon asserted that the prosecution's investigation has already exceeded common sense. He said, "The prosecution summoned my seventy-year-old mother more than ten times during the investigation, pressuring her through phone calls and messages, and they even took her iPad without properly returning it."
He continued, "They have investigated relatives of in-laws and alumni from my daughter’s high school, and numerous articles related to former President Moon's son-in-law have been leaked from the prosecution," emphasizing, "Now former President Moon has no choice but to respond criminally."
Lawmaker Yoon also suggested that there was an intention behind the timing of the prosecution's indictment. He pointed out, "Former President Moon is attending the '4·27 Panmunjom Declaration 7th Anniversary Ceremony' at the National Assembly this afternoon, and the indictment was pushed through the day before," indicating that there was an intentional attempt to humiliate him in front of reporters.

"Abstaining from Indictment? It’s Ridiculous"
Lawmaker Yoon dismissed the prosecution's outlined charges as "fictional内容." He argued, "There are no specific facts about when former President Moon solicited employment for his son-in-law or through whom," stating, "It's merely presumptive, and there is not even a speck of evidence."
In response to the prosecution's claim of having "abstained from indictment," he asserted, "It’s a laughable statement." He further added, "Initially, they tried to apply criminal bribery to a third party, but when that fell through due to the lack of unlawful solicitation, they approached it with the logic of a management community, eventually forcefully inserting the concept of complicity in bribery."

He also criticized the prosecution's claims of 'conspiratorial circumstances,' suggesting that the only evidence was that an administrative officer of the Blue House’s Civil Affairs Office had communicated with former President Moon's daughter, saying, "To argue that the son-in-law's salary is a bribe based on this is an absurd stretch of logic."
Former President Moon Is Not Avoiding Prosecution Investigations… "Currently Preparing Written Responses to Over 130 Questions"
According to Lawmaker Yoon, the representatives of former President Moon are currently preparing written responses to over 130 questions sent by the prosecution, aiming to complete them by the end of April, and they have been reviewing related materials at the presidential archives located in Sejong.
Additionally, regarding the prosecution's decision to indict this case in the Seoul Central District Court, which is not under its jurisdiction, he suggested that it was an attempt to distract public interest from the trial of former President Yoon Seok-youl, deeming it "the last loyalty of Yoon Seok-youl's faction."

Lawmaker Yoon concluded, "This is not just a simple indictment issue. It is an organized attempt by the political prosecution to politically and legally insult a former president," stating, "Former President Moon will correct all these distortions in the name of the law."
