Shocking Misdiagnosis Case by a Gynecologist
A couple residing in Busan received a misdiagnosis from a gynecologist stating that "the fetus's heart is not beating," but there was no apology from the hospital, according to reports.
This story was shared on JTBC's 'Incident Headquarters' on the 21st.

According to the report, the couple, identified as A, was celebrating the joy of being pregnant with their first child at the end of last month. However, on the 19th, they received unexpectedly shocking news during a gynecological examination.
Unexpectedly Shocking News
The gynecologist advised couple A, saying, "The baby's heart is not beating. It is advisable to remove the gestational sac for your next pregnancy."
Hearing this, A's wife broke down in tears from the shock, and the husband said they would return the next day as they left the hospital together.
However, thinking there might be a mistake, the couple sought out another gynecologist for an ultrasound, and astonishingly, just 4-5 hours later, they received a completely different diagnosis.
Medical Misdiagnosis and Irresponsible Response from the Hospital

The gynecologist at the second clinic suggested, "While a weak heartbeat is not a good sign for the fetus, let's wait and see for a few days." Following this, A’s husband returned to the first gynecologist the next day to explain the situation.
However, the gynecologist's reaction was even more shocking. The gynecologist remarked, "If I made a misdiagnosis, wouldn’t that be good for you? To me, the fetal condition seemed abnormal. If it absolutely doesn’t work out, do whatever legally. I will take full responsibility," showing a defensive attitude instead of offering an apology.
Defensive Attitude Instead of an Apology
The gynecologist stated to 'Incident Headquarters,' "I have done more than five ultrasounds where the heart did not beat, and there’s no recording, so I feel frustrated." Additionally, the gynecologist commented, "If I made a mistake, that means the baby is alive, which isn’t that good? The fact that the fetus hasn’t grown much compared to last week means that the heart hasn’t been beating steadily."
A remarked, "If there had been even a single word of apology, I wouldn’t have made a report or a lawsuit, but I am extremely angry," revealing plans to file for compensation due to mental distress, as the misdiagnosis by the doctor is evident.
