Mr. A was indicted for feeding food laced with pesticides to dogs at a dog farm operated by Mr. B in Hwacheon, Gangwon Province, on January 12 of the previous year, resulting in the deaths of seven dogs.

According to the investigation, Mr. A harbored resentment against neighbor Mr. B after repeatedly hearing complaints from customers at his restaurant, such as "the dog barking is unpleasant," and "it's too noisy," and committed the crime out of spite.

Mr. A is reported to have mixed the highly toxic soil pesticide with fish by-products and secretly tossed the poisoned food through the gaps in the fence of the dog farm.

Judge: "Cruel Act, Significant Psychological Shock for Victims"

The court stated, "The defendant caused the animals to die in a brutal manner, and the neighboring victims likely experienced severe emotional and psychological shock."

However, considering factors such as the absence of prior convictions for similar crimes, the court sentenced him to 8 months in prison, suspended for 2 years, and ordered probation.
