On the 8th, former lawmaker Kim appeared on SBS Radio's "Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show" and said, "It's disappointing that not only the individuals from the last presidential election are running, but even those who are being referred to as 'candidates of dubious merit' are participating."

He pointed out that the current candidates do not seem to show a genuine desire to become president, stating, "I don't think the People Power Party's primary is going to be a success."

Former lawmaker Kim criticized the People Power Party candidates, suggesting that they are using this as an opportunity to elevate their status under the belief that they will lose the presidential election anyway.

He also emphasized the need for a clear stance regarding the impeachment issue concerning former President Yoon Suk-yeol, arguing that given the situation where he has been indicted for treason, at the very least, he should show a willingness to step down from the party.

Former President Yoon identified as a hidden ally of the Democratic Party

Particularly, former lawmaker Kim stated that former President Yoon is "the Democratic Party's best hidden supporter." He explained that despite the Democratic Party's struggles in recent years, it has not faced criticism due to the mistakes of former President Yoon.

He remarked, "Since former President Yoon declared martial law, how can he criticize the Democratic Party now?" and added, "If the Democratic Party wins this presidential election, they will have a very strong card."

He predicted, "Whenever the political situation becomes challenging, former President Yoon will send out strange messages, allowing the Democratic Party to say, 'Aren't we better than that?'"

Meanwhile, following the official announcement of his candidacy by People Power Party lawmaker Ahn Cheol-soo on the 8th, former Minister of Employment and Labor Kim Moon-soo also resigned from his position to run.

With Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, and former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon also expected to enter the race, along with various local government heads, a situation of multiple candidates is anticipated.
