The posthumous work of late Song Jae-rim is ready to meet the audience. The team behind “Crash” (directed by Hyun Hae-ri) released on-set stills on the 13th. The images depict Song Jae-rim transformed into the protagonist, showcasing his final passionate performance.

Late Song Jae-rim played the role of virtual currency developer “Yang Do-hyun,” a self-proclaimed business genius. The film captures the process of his gradual corruption from 2009 to 2023 in pursuit of success.

It particularly highlights the exploitation of benefits for youths, women, and the disabled, fraudulent acquisition of youth start-up support funds, and the reality of young entrepreneurs facing intentional bankruptcies and closures.

“Crash” is a crime drama based on true events, dealing with the 50 trillion won disappearance incident involving Luna Coin. It depicts the reality of youths addicted to get-rich-quick schemes like stocks and coins.

The film is inspired by a case that still lacks a final legal resolution despite countless victims. Thorough pre-investigations, including detailed review and consultation, were conducted.

Director Hyun Hae-ri took the helm, having a background as a current affairs and cultural program producer, known for directing numerous social criticism reports. His representative work includes “A Woman With Nine Temporary Jobs.”

Director Hyun stated, “I depicted the corrupt desires of young entrepreneurs in a black comedy format.” The film stars Ahn Woo-yeon, Min Sung-wook, So Hee-jung, and Cha Jeong-won.

Song Jae-rim was found deceased at his home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, on the 12th of last month. A friend reported to the police. There were no signs of foul play, and it is known that a suicide note was found. Meanwhile, “Crash” is set to release on the 15th of next month.
