Teenagers' Dangerous Escapade in a Late-Night Apartment Parking Lot
On the 22nd, MBC reported that teenagers stole a vehicle without a license and sped for 18 kilometers in an apartment parking lot in Songpa District but were apprehended by the police after a chase and booked on charges of special theft.
According to the report, at around 2:30 a.m. on the 11th of last month, two men exhibiting unusual behavior were spotted in the underground parking lot of an apartment in Wirye-dong, Songpa District, Seoul.
The slender individuals appeared to be searching for something as they wandered around the parking lot. Notably, one man, wearing gray sweatpants and a black t-shirt, had a mask covering his face.
They continued to observe their surroundings, looking around, and soon seemed to have discovered something, moving in a specific direction.

Shortly after, they approached a parked SUV, started the engine, and quickly left the scene with the masked man in the passenger seat.
These teenagers, with no driver's license, discovered a vehicle that had its doors unlocked with the keys still in the ignition and made a split-second decision to steal the vehicle.
The Dangerous Joyride Led to a Police Chase
The escapade of the teenagers in the stolen vehicle was detected again three hours later, 18 kilometers away in Guri City, Gyeonggi Province.
At the time, a report was received of a suspected drunk driver, stating that "the vehicle is zigzagging." The police, who were dispatched, ordered the vehicle to stop. However, the teenagers ignored the police's command and accelerated instead, fleeing to a less populated area.

Before long, the individuals jumped out of the vehicle and scattered in different directions. It was confirmed that there were a total of five teenagers in the car at that time, more than the initial two.
The police quickly initiated a search of the surrounding area after discovering the abandoned vehicle.
Around 5:50 a.m., a 17-year-old boy, A, who had been driving the stolen vehicle, appeared wearing only a sleeveless shirt while waving his outer clothing. He was soon arrested by the police after they recognized his face.
According to the investigation results, the police charged A, who drove without a license after stealing the vehicle, with special theft and unlicensed driving. B, who participated in the vehicle theft wearing a mask, was charged with special theft as well, and after completing their investigations, the case was referred to the prosecution.
