Actor Ok Taek-yeon will meet domestic audiences through a Japanese film.
Distributor Media Castle announced on the 25th, "The release date for 'The Grand Maison Paris' (directed by Tsukahara Ayuko), following its success in Japan, has been confirmed for August 27 in South Korea."
'The Grand Maison Paris' is an adaptation of a local drama. It follows a perennial "second star" chef as he moves forward with his colleagues towards the pinnacle of fine dining.
Japanese actor Kimura Takuya plays the role of Chef Obana. Ok Taek-yeon portrays a Korean-Canadian pastry chef named Rikyuan, who is depicted as a character on the opposite side.
The main poster has also been unveiled, featuring chefs standing against the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. Obana gazes with a determined look, suggesting that he's betting everything on achieving the "3-star" status.
It hints at an emotional narrative beyond a simple cooking competition. The tagline "Challenging Michelin's 3-star in the heart of gourmet culture" raises curiosity for the main feature.
Meanwhile, 'The Grand Maison Paris' will be available for viewing at Lotte Cinema on the 27th of next month.
