The effect of consumption coupons brings vitality back to traditional markets.
On the first weekend since the introduction of consumption coupons for revitalizing livelihoods, Daegu Seomun Market, the largest traditional market in the country with over 4,000 stores, has regained its energy after a long time.
On the 26th, News1 reported that Seomun Market, adorned with a banner reading "Welcome to the Use of Consumption Coupons for Revitalizing Livelihoods," was filled with crowds.

According to the report, the temperature that day reached as high as 34.5 degrees Celsius. The roads surrounding the market were packed with vehicles, reminiscent of a parking lot. It appears that the market has regained its vitality thanks to the consumption coupons provided by the government to all citizens.
The surge in visitors caused significant traffic congestion near the market's public parking lot at one point.
An official from the Seomun Market Association expressed hope, stating, "Cars have been coming to the market since early morning. We hope this leads to increased sales and greatly supports the merchants."

Meanwhile, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 26th that, from the 21st when the first application for consumption coupons for revitalization began, seven out of ten citizens completed their applications within five days.
Specifically, out of a total of 50,707,067 eligible recipients, 36.43 million people completed their applications, achieving a participation rate of 72%. The total amount disbursed through this program is estimated to be around 6.57 trillion won.
