A man in his 20s was apprehended for stalking by depositing 1 won into his ex-girlfriend's account 553 times.
The Gangbuk Police Station in Seoul announced that it is investigating a man, referred to as A, for stalking behavior, including depositing 1 won into the account of his ex-girlfriend and visiting her workplace.

A is facing allegations of coercing multiple meetings with his ex-girlfriend, referred to as B.
According to JTBC on the 21st, on the afternoon of the 19th, A visited B's workplace located near Suyu Station in Gangbuk-gu, Seoul.
B immediately reported to the police, and by the time the police arrived on the scene, A had already fled. The police searched the area based on A's appearance and apprehended him in a nearby parking lot.
At the time of his arrest, A denied his actions; however, the police judged that there was a risk of flight and reoffending, leading to his apprehension as a person caught in the act.

In particular, it was revealed that A pressured B into meetings by depositing 1 won into her account a total of 553 times. This method represents a new form of stalking, as it continuously attempts to make contact through financial transaction records, potentially inflicting psychological pressure on the victim.
The police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the case involving A and are considering additional legal measures.
This incident once again highlights various forms of stalking that can occur in modern society. Especially with the advent of the digital age, these issues have become increasingly complex, necessitating urgent legal responses and preventive measures.
