Gaeseon and Joint Press Conference… Intensifying Legal Battle
The family of the late Kim Sae-ron will hold an official press conference regarding actor Kim Soo-hyun on the afternoon of the 7th.
Boo Ji-seok, the legal representative from the law firm Buyu for the family of Kim Sae-ron, announced in a press release this morning, "We are planning to hold a press conference related to the serious crimes committed by actor Kim Soo-hyun."
The press conference will be held at 2 PM at an undisclosed location in Gangnam, Seoul, and will be conducted alongside Kim Se-yeo, the head of the YouTube channel 'Garo Sero Research Institute.' This marks the third official announcement from the family after two press conferences held on March 17 and 27.
From 700 million won notification of legal action to exposure of private life… Escalating Debate
The controversy began with claims made by the YouTube channel Gaeseon. They alleged that Kim Sae-ron was in a relationship with Kim Soo-hyun since her minor years, and subsequently revealed that Kim Soo-hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, sent a notification demanding 700 million won from the Kim Sae-ron’s family, which reportedly caused significant psychological pressure on the deceased.
In response, Kim Soo-hyun's side has completely denied the dating rumors, refuting any relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron. However, Gaeseon amplified the controversy by releasing photos and materials related to Kim Soo-hyun's private life, leading Kim Soo-hyun’s agency to file a report accusing the family, Gaeseon, and an individual identified as 'A' who claims to be the late Kim Sae-ron's aunt, under the "Law on Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes" for the crime of ‘distribution of recording material.’

Amid the escalating conflict, Kim Soo-hyun voluntarily held an emergency press conference. He expressed that, with the airing of the tvN drama 'Queen of Tears' approaching, he had no choice but to deny the dating rumors, stating it was “a choice as star Kim Soo-hyun.”
He also claimed that the materials released by the family were manipulated and that “the age difference with the deceased is also different from the facts,” shedding tears. Kim Soo-hyun’s side stated that all relevant materials have been submitted to the investigative authorities.
In contrast, the family’s legal representative took additional action ahead of the press conference on the 7th. Boo Ji-seok announced, “We have filed a complaint against the family, self-identified aunt A, and the Gaeseon operators for defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act” and revealed that they have also filed a lawsuit for damages amounting to 12 billion won at the Seoul Central District Court.
Meanwhile, Kim Soo-hyun's side has also submitted complaints against netizens who posted malicious comments about him under the accusation of defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act and insult under the Criminal Act. The legal battle to unveil the truth of the case is expected to be prolonged.
