Thanks to the swift actions of Jeju residents, a heartwarming moment unfolded as they saved the precious life of a cardiac arrest patient in Jeju.
According to News1 on the 18th, at around 5:40 PM on the 17th, urgent sirens echoed through Jeju's Peace Road.
At that time, the road was congested with vehicles trying to enter downtown Jeju City due to the end of the workday. Amid this situation, the civic consciousness of Jeju residents shone brightly.

Without waiting for anyone to act first, vehicles began to turn on their hazard lights and move aside, creating a path in the middle of the congested road for the ambulance to pass through. As a result, the previously stalled ambulance was able to resume its journey.
Collaboration Between Residents and Community Police Secures Golden Time for Patient in Critical Condition
Inside the ambulance was a male patient in his 70s, Mr. A, who was in cardiac arrest.
Mr. A suddenly collapsed around 4:59 PM in Geumak-ri, Hallim-eup, Jeju City, and the situation was so urgent that both cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and an automated external defibrillator (AED) were necessary at the scene.

As the ambulance passed through Peace Road and entered downtown Jeju City, a patrol car from the Jeju Autonomous Police began to clear the way in front.
Thanks to the proactive assistance of community police officers, the ambulance was able to pass quickly through Nohyung Intersection, which is known for its heavy traffic.
According to the Jeju Fire and Safety Headquarters, the ambulance arrived safely at Jeju Halla Hospital around 5:53 PM, roughly 20 minutes after leaving the scene, and fortunately, Mr. A’s breathing had returned.
