'SHINee' Taemin will host the survival show. This is his first MC challenge since his debut.

Mnet announced on the 17th, "Taemin has been selected as the sole MC for the new season of 'Road to Kingdom.' As a senior and host, he will help rediscover K-pop boy groups."

In 'Road to Kingdom,' Taemin will take on the role of solo host for the first time since his debut. He will share various know-how he has accumulated through group and solo activities with the contestants.

The production team explained, "There was no other MC candidate," adding, "There will be unique stories that only Taemin, as a role model for his juniors, can tell."

'Road to Kingdom' is a survival program. After rebranding, it returns after four years. It provides an opportunity to spotlight talented boy groups.

A total of 7 teams will appear: THE NEW SIX, The Crew One (ATBO, JUST B), 8TURN, ONEUS, YOUNITE, CRAVITY, and TEMPEST will showcase unique performances.

Meanwhile, the new season of 'Road to Kingdom' will first air this coming September.
